Kohala Kai Homesites
Kohala Kai’s design guidelines are not confined by “resort-style” rules and regulations, allowing owners more freedom to create their vision.
In keeping with the intent of the guidelines, homeowners are encouraged to use solar power and native plants, fruit trees and gardens in their landscape design.

Homesite 4 - Design Study
The building envelope was carefully designed to make the most of the site’s unique characteristics. Careful placement of the structures minimizes site grading and maximizes views. The site plan also reduces the visual impact for the neighbors, preserving their open views.
Conceptual sketches show the residence conceived as a series of interconnected tropical pavilions that nest into the topography of the site and open up the views across the land and ocean.
The landscaping between the pavilion grounds them to the site while the extended planting integrate the home into the greater landscape.
